At PRO Structures, we have extensive experience of undertaking design in structural timber to meet our clients’ design briefs. We can design in traditional treated timber as well as glulam timber, and can provide timber connection designs to give the best aesthetic and structural connection solution.

We use the latest release of MasterSeries’ structural timber design packages. All timber designs can be produced to the current British standards, as well as to the new Eurocodes if required.

Examples of PRO Structures projects designed in structural timber include:

•  Dyers Cottage, Mission Road, Iron Acton – Where we designed a series of flat boomed timber roof trusses with bolted tooth plate connections to support the new flat roof building extension. The 8No.timber trusses varied in length from 4.2 to 5.4m and were 0.85 m in overall height.

•  7 Vernslade, Weston, Bath – Where the architect specified the use of Parallam timber beams to the purlins, hip and ridge beam for the new single storey extension to this building.

•  The Old Baptist Chapel, Beech Road, Yorkley – Where the client requested us to modify the existing roof truss arrangement in order to open up the roof space. We introduced new structural members and steel plated bolted connections to the existing trusses to undertake this work.
