Quality and value structural engineering

February 2012 - new commission for The Cottages, Mount Pleasant Estate, Coventry

PRO Structures has just been appointed as structural engineer for these three new two-storey residential blocks, which will comprise 14 flats in total. We are delighted to have won this new commission for Hall Bros Builders, following the success of our work with them on Brade Drive Retirement Village.

January 2012 - PRO Structures appointed preferred supplier to Homeworx

Homeworx Design and Build has chosen PRO Structures as their preferred structural engineer to work alongside them within their portfolio of associated professionals. Homeworx, who specialise in top-end renovation, refurbishment and interior design, as well as new build housing, chose us following the successful completion of several projects, noting that PRO Structures has never let them down, and has always provided high quality solutions at a competitive rate.

November 2011 - building shells up at Lansdown Ridge

our flagship project for the year is an exclusive development of four 5-bedroom detached luxury homes in Lansdown, Bath, with panoramic views over the Swainswick and Box Valleys. PRO Structures is the structural engineer for this scheme, whose buildings utilise piled foundations with insulated concrete walling for their superstructure support. We have liaised closely with the architect to guarantee the high specification needed for these homes, providing best value designed concepts while meeting a challenging aesthetic brief. The buildings’ shells are now complete and the contractor is currently at fit-out stage.

November 2011 - foundation work underway at Water Lane Development, Wotton-under-Edge, for Elan Homes

A two-storey industrial building on the site has been demolished to create a terrace of ten houses with a two-storey apartment block on the end. PRO Structures are advising on the substructure and external retaining wall issues, and the building foundation work is currently underway.

October 2011 - 213 A Bath Road, Cheltenham, handed over

This 2-storey infill development, L-shaped on plan, presented PRO Structures with several interesting sub-structure and structural design issues. With buildings on both sides, we were working in constrained circumstances, and needed to find innovative foundation design solutions while also endeavouring to cause minimum disruption to the neighbouring buildings. This project was completed in autumn 2011.

September 2011 - construction starts at 51 Barton Road, St Philips, Bristol

This new four-storey apartment block is a interesting triangular building (as viewed on plan), which will house ten apartments with one, two or three bedrooms. The top floor will be set back, and the apartment block is being constructed from load-bearing masonry walls with suspended flooring. Construction is currently underway, and PRO Structures is proud to have provided the sub- and superstructure structural design.

September 2011 - Phase 2 gets underway at Brade Drive Retirement Village, Coventry

Phase 1 is nearing completion, and for Phase 2, comprising 13 bungalow units and a small community centre, the reinforced concrete substructure work has now started on site.
