Brade Drive (Phase 1: A and B) is a new development of five 2 and 3-storey apartment blocks, which will house 31 retirement flats. The apartment blocks will sit on piled foundations with load-bearing masonry walls supported by RC ground beams, proprietary pre-cast suspended floor slabs and proprietary timber-trussed raftered roofs.

 

PRO Structure’s brief was to design both sub- and superstructure elements to minimise build costs for the client. The structural design of Phases A and B started in May 2009 and were completed by the October. Substructure work on Phase 2, comprising 13 bungalow units and a small community centre, started in summer 2011, and superstructure builds should be completed by summer 2012.
